Well the day started wet, and got wetter but we were on fire today despite an unscheduled stop in the middle of the day for some celebrating and dancing.
It is an actual fact that it is more exhausting dancing with children and families to the live beats of brass bands, andean folk musicians and pop stars in silver than it is being a wheelbarrow warrior. But its all for a good cause right?
However, despite pouring rain and a plethora of media, dignitaries and the like we made huge amounts of progress. In fact, we achieved so much today that we brought the entire project back on track. And that´s a great feeling.
It is fair also to say that it was much easier today – almost as if our muscles were prepared for the hefting and humphing. For those worried that we´re wasting time ´grooving to the beat´, rest assured we shifted barrows of sand, bricks galore and stacks of rubble. Its hard work, its physically tiring but we are all feeling really pumped.
Apparently tomorrow is going to be harder still… and why not, there are still patches of skin visible in between the bruises so we´ve still got something left to give.
(And while personally I´m not a fanatic – here´s hoping Ecuador win the football/soccer today! Viva la Ecuador! )
